M1 is a program that lets you play sounds and music from over 1,400 arcade and pinball games and record them to .WAV files. It's written by R.Belmont, MAME/MESS active and talented developer.

M1FX is a small elegant Graphic Interface for M1.

Latest version is 12.0 FINAL.

KNOWN BUGS: NAMCO C352 SOUND CHIP games even if supported are silent. It's an official M1 source code issue.

Released M1FX 6.2
No relevant changes, only added some windows libraries to the main executable to increase compatibility with newer version of Windows.
Download links are always the same. Old versions of source and main program have been replaced with the new ones.

M1FX 7.0 released

- Fixed and improved the equalizer, now it moves in sync with the volume slider.

Actually, after some intensive tests, looks like that the default value for volume should be 50 and not 100 as it is now. So probably I'll release a M1FX 7.1 soon, with a new volume range available, I guess 0-150 should be enough. After those values the equalizer is completely full and static and my speakers starts to emit crackling sounds... ;) :P

M1FX 8.0 released

- Changed to "50" default volume level. This makes the equalizer to be more in sync and better displayed in the interface
- Put release date in the window title
- Changed some text colors
- Compiled with the new MAME MinGW-GCC tools.
- Re-organized a bit internal source code. Still in TODO list add comments and clean-up.

Is there a way to make it Auto play? I always have to hit play before the song starts. Also will we be able to record WAV. files?

1) There's already support for recording WAV files. They are saved in \AUDIO\ folder. If you haven't in your setup, just create it. You simply have to click "Start recording WAV output" button...
2) There's no Autoplay by design. Though I'll think of implement it.

M1FX 9.0 released

- Added a simple MENU bar which performs some basic operations
- Re-designed a bit the main window
- Created an ABOUT dialog for the sake of accuracy and completeness

As usual it will be distributed with the next MAMEUIFX version, though you can already grab it using the links in the first post of the thread.

M1FX 9.1 released

Quick bug fix version:

- Fixed a last minute bug that was the cause of some buttons stay disabled.
- Some sound chips fixes/improvements: (mikomidofan)
  • YM2151, YM2413, YM3812, YMF262: enabled resample filtering
  • YM2610: fixed initializing
  • K053260: improved PPCM decoding
- Start of accurate commenting of source code
