In addition to here, maybe think about also posting M1FX's updates in the MAMEWorld 's subforum, News Submissions. This should draw more gamers to experience this program... along with the actual emulator itself. Plus, by posting it there, emulation news websites like EmuCR and Emu-France might even start posting news of M1FX's updates.

Coming soon...
M1FX 10.0 STAND-ALONE

Image

- New Configuration setup, now M1FX is placed in the root directory, recommended with MAMEUIFX executable. Though, it can stay alone, with M1.XML and M1.INI placed in the \M1\ subfolder:

Image

- Added AUTOPLAY when skipping to next\previous song. If paused, you can continue to skip and select the desired song.
- Added SELECT NEW GAME button and menu voice. This will allow to select another game to listen, without having to close the program and restart from MAMEUIFX interface again (which was the previous behaviour). Default path is \ROMS\ but you can browse all your PC to find the wished ROMset.

Image

- A huge amount of bugfixes, tweaks and partials redesign of the GUI.

This will be released and distributed with MAMEUIFX 0.161.

When you say "stand-alone"... does that mean MAMEUIFX does not have to be loaded in order to use M1FX? That's how I understood it when I read "stand-alone".

Both programs are looking real nice. Looking forward to this release more than usual... especially since it was not long ago that we thought they were going to be caput due to the source changes.

You can simply double-click M1FX.EXE, it will do a sort of initialization and then, after prompted that there's no game supported, you'll be able to select a game directly from the interface.

Of course MAMEUIFX will still have the option to launch M1FX and play the selected game.

So, yes, it is stand-alone now and plus can be used with MAMEUIFX like before.

You should know what's new in this big update. All the new features have been announced some days ago.

Download links are always at the top of the thread and as usual it will be distributed with MAMEUIFX 0.161.

All looks good. Nice job. :)

I got a question... did you ever consider adding a FAST FORWARD and REWIND feature for M1FX?

They are not supported by the core. Impossible to implement, I guess.

There wasn't a lot of change, but I updated the romdata in x1.xml to match the 0.162 romsets and fixed a few issues cropping up in the last few releases:
Quote:
06/05/2016 - 1920 sets

Fixed error with diggerman size was 64k should have been 128k (thanks to Dahao Liao)
Stadium Cross - new sample roms for parent replaced (2 x 1024k sized).
Psychic 5 - new parent cpu/sound rom

Data sync to 0.162

10.0 is the first release of M1FX that actually works for me. All the previous builds just refused to play a sound. To be a honest I'd pretty much gave up on M1FX due whatever was causing the constant dead silence.

I'm happy to hear this. Though, what are you experiencing is probably caused by ROM in .7z format instead of .ZIP. M1FX doesn't prompt any error because for its core the game is available and supported. But obviously isn't able to play anything because it's not able to open the file. I'm not 100% sure of what I'm saying, I never studied M1 Core with the necessary attention. I simply built on top of it a user-friendly interface. So I'd like to have a confirmation from you since this is an issue that should be fixed soon or later. Thanks.
